The film is about a singer, performer of folk songs with unique natural data, Myskal Omurkanova.
This publication was made in 2020 and updated on 08/20/2023 due to the fact that the KYRGYZFILM film studio made a new, high-quality digitization of the film. As part of the preservation of our cultural heritage, the film studio is digitizing films, including those directed by Lilya Turusbekova in the year of her 90th birthday. We invite you to watch and get real pleasure by listening to the unique recordings of the singer with a huge range of voice.
From an interview with Lilya Turusbekova, given after the shooting of the film “Myskal”: “the Themes of all these pictures echo in their essence — they are about folk talents. I’m attracted to people like that… I believe that we, as filmmakers, should use every opportunity to shoot these unique people, otherwise tomorrow it will be too late.”
